       Subscribing Evidences to the within Deed before me the
       Subscriber one of his Lordship the Right Honble the Lord Propry
       Justices of the Provincial Court of Maryland & made Oath on
       the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that he saw the within
       named John Taillor Sign Seal and in due form of Law deliver
       the same Deed as his Act and Deed to & for the Severall Uses
       Intents ^& Purposes^ in the same Deed mentioned And that he saw
       Simon Pridham one other of the Subscribing Evidences subscribe
       his Name as a Witness thereto the same Sworn to
       the Day & Year abovesaid before               Jn.o Brice

       Sept y.e 22.d 1742 Then Came before me the Subscriber one of
       his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court of Maryland
       Charles Carroll Esq.r who by Virtue of the Power of Attorney
       within mentioned acknowledged the within Deed to & for the
       Uses therein mentioned according to the Directions of the
       Act of Assembly in that Case made & provided      JBrice

          Reced Sept the 20.th 1742 of M.r John Gassaway the Sum
       of one Shilling and Eight Pence Sterling for his Lordships Use
       (being the Alienation fine on the within mentioned Eighty
       two Acres and three Quarters of Land) by Virtue of a Commission
       from Benjamin Tasker Esq.r his said Lordships
       Agent & Receiver Generall

Ex.d This Indenture made the twenty sixth Day of May in the
       fifteenth Year of the Reign of our sovereign Lord George the second by the
       Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the
       Faith and so forth and in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven
       hundred and forty two Between John Taillor of London Merchant
       of the one Part William Chapman of Ann Arundel County in
       the Province of Maryland Planter ^Merchant^ of the other Part Witnesseth that
       the said John Taillor for and in Consideration of the sum of one
       hundred and Seventy Pounds Sterling to him in Hand paid
       by the said William Chapman the Reseipt whereof is hereby
