340) Pounds Sterling Money being the Portion Money within mentioned I say Rec.d by £1500 Witness Benj.n Tasker Sam Ogle Onorio Razolini Recorded Oct.r 1st 1742 4 sides Ex.d This Indenture made the twenty Sixth Day of May in the fifteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and so forth Between John Taillor of London Merchant of the one Part and John Gassaway of Ann Arundell County ^in the Province of Maryland^ Gentleman of the other Part Witnesseth that the said John Taillor for and in Consideration of the Sum of Eighty five pounds & four Shillings Sterling to him in hand paid by the said John Gassaway The Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged & the said John Gassaway thereof & therefrom fully acquitted and Discharged Hath Bargained sold made over and Confirmed and by these Presents Doth Bargain sell make over & Confirm unto the said John Gassaway All that Parcell of Land being Part of a Tract of Land Called Mary's Mount lying and being in the County and Province af.d Beginning at a Cherry Tree standing at the South West Corner of John Wooden's Land & running thence North two Degrees West One hundred & fifty Nine Perches then West and by North fifty Nine Perches then South Ten Degrees West One hundred and Sixty Perches to a four Notched Oak then South West thirty five Perches and from thence by a Streight line to the Beginning Containing Eighty two Acres & three Quarters more or less, Together with all Buildings & Improvements profits Advantages Ways Waters and Appurtenances to the Bargained Premisses & every Part thereof in any wise belonging or appertaining To have and to hold all & Singular the hereby bargained Premisses & every Part & Parcell thereof (to) |
