258) Somerset County in Maryland fs.t Be it Remembred that on the Sixteenth Day of August Anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and forty one personally appeared here in his Lordships County Court of Somerset the within written Samuel Shepherd & Thomas Greenwallis who subscribed the within Instrument of Writing or Letter of Attorney as Witnesses and did then & there before the Worshipfull John Scot Gent & others his Associates Justices of the same Court in Court judicially sitting make Oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that they saw the within named Lyonel Lyde & Ed Cooper Seal and Execute the within Insterument of Writing or Letter of Attorney as their Deed and likewise that they the said Samuel Shepherd & Thomas Green Wallis at the same time did subscribe as Witnesses In Testimony whereof the Seal of the County of Somerset is hereunto affixed the Day & Year abovesaid Seal Thomas Hayward Ck Cur Cour Recorded October 2.d 1741 Som.t 6 1/2 Maryland August the 4.th 1740 Exchange for £ 6 7 Sterling At Thirty Days Sight of this my third of Exchange (First nor Second Paid) Pay unto Cap.t Gabriel James Stacie or Order the sum of Six Pounds Seven Shill.s Sterling Money of Great Britain Value received of him and Place the same to Account of your most hble Serv.t To M.r Robert Cruikshanks James Rich Merchant in London On the back thereof was thus Endorst (viz.t) Gabr Jam Stacie W.m Potts Pay the Contents to Andrew Reed Merch.t in London 1 side Adam Muir Recorded October 15.th 1741 |
