248 of these p.rsents in Witness whereof I have hereunto set My hand and affixed my seal this Ninth day of April in the Year of our Lord God 1741 Sealed & Delivered John Rendell Seal in prsence of Rob.t North Edw.d Fottrell Mem.d on the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorst Vizt Maryland fs.t Edward Fottrell one of the Subscribing Witness to the within Letter of Attorney came before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the Prov.l Court and made oath on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God that he see the within named John Rendell Seal & Deliver the within Letter of Attorney sworn to before me June 22.d 1741 Levin Gale Recorded June the 25.th 1741 6 1/2 Ex.d This Indenture made this Day of May Anno Domini seventeen hundred and forty one Between William Lapeer of the one Part and Grace Cooper of the other Part Whereas a Marriage by Gods Grace is intended shortly to be had and Solemnprized by and between the said William Lapeer and the said Grace Cooper And Whereas the said Grace Cooper is possessed of a Personal Estate of a Considerable Value Now this Indenture witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the said Intended Marriage and for a Provision for the said Grace Cooper in Case she should Survive the said William Lapeer His hereby mutually Covenanted Concluded and Agreed by and Between the said Parties to these Presents And the said Will.m Lapeer for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators doth Covenant that immediately from and after and as soon as the said Intended Marriage shall be solemnized & take Effect that One hundred Pounds Current Money Part of the Personal Estate of the said Grace Cooper shall be put out to Interest in Such Manner as the said Grace (Cooper) |
