237 June 3.d 1741 Rec.d of Benj.a Tasker Esq.r & Company Ninety Pounds Current Money being the Consideration within mentioned Witness John Steward Sam.ll Galloway Thomas Norris Sam.ll Waters jun.r Rec.d of Charles Carroll Chyrurgeon for use of the Right Honb.le Charles Lord Baltimore four Shillings Sterl being an Alienation fine on the within mentioned One Hundred Acres of Land called New Town I say Rec.d p me June 3.d 1741 Benj.a Tasker June 3.d 1741 Then came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court of the Province of Maryland John Steward Thomas Norris Jun.r and Sarah his Wife parties to the within Deed and Acknowledged the same & the Land and Premisses therein Bargained and Sold to be the Right of Estate of Benj.a Tasker Daniel Dulany and Mess.rs Charles Carroll the other Parties their Heirs and Assigns for ever Respectively According to the Tenor thereof and Sarah his Wife of said Norris and Susanah the Wife of the said Steward being Privately Examined apart from their said Husbands Declared that they did Acknowledg the same freely & Voluntarily without any threats or Cumpultion of their said Husbands or fear of their Displeasure according to the Act of Assembly in that case made & Provided Robert Gordon 12 Recorded June y.e 5.d 1741 $1.75 Ex.d This Indenture made the twenty seventh Day of May in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty one between John Steward of Ann Arundell County in the Province of Maryland Shipwright of the one part and the Rev.d Benedict |
