233 Benjamin Tasker Daniel Dulany & Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis Esq.r Charles Carroll Son of Daniel Carroll of Dudington in Prince Georges County Deceased And Charles Carroll of the said City Chyrurgeon on the other Part Witnesseth Whereas Benjamin Tasker of Annapolis in the Province of Maryland & Company in Iron Works obtained a Write out of the Chancery Court of the said Province by Virtue of an Act of Assembly of the same Entituled An Act for Encouragement of Iron Manufacture within the Province Directed to the Sherriff of Baltimore County by Virtue of which Writt One Hundred Acres of Land was Valued & Condemned for Building thereon a Forge Mill & other Conveniencies for making Barr Iron in which Hundred Acres of Land is about the Quantity of Sixty Acres of a Tract of Land called New Town scituate on the Falls of Patapsco called Gwins Falls which part or so much of the said Land called New Town as full within the said Hundred Acres so condemned was by the Jury Impannelled to that purpose Valued at the Rate of Eighteen Shillings Current Money P Acre and which Tract of Land as aforesaid called New Town became the right of John Steward the Father of the said John party to these presents Who by his Last Will & Testament duly proved and Recorded in the Prerogative Office of the said province Lib T P D fol 107 may appear Devised the said Land called New Town to his Two Sons John & Stephen Steward to them and their Heirs for ever to be Equally Devided with Dower to his Wife Now this Indenture further Witnesseth that the said John Steward Thomas Norris Junior and Sarah his Wife for & in Consideration of the Sum of Ninety Pounds Current Money of Maryland to them in hand paid & Satisfied by them the said Benjamin Tasker Daniel Dulany and Mess.rs Charles Carroll aforesaid at and before the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof they do hereby Acknowledge and thereof and every part and Parcell thereof doth Acquit Exonerate release and Discharge them them the said Benjamin Tasker Daniel Dulany and |
