       Maryland fs.t February the 25.th 1740/1 Then Came before Me the Subscribers
       one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court of the Province af.d
       Thomas Lewis & Elizabeth his Wife Parties to the within Indenture and
       acknowledged the same to be their Acts & Deeds & the Land & Premisses
       within mentioned to be the Right & Estate of the within named John
       Brice his Heirs & Assignes according to the true Intent & Meaning of
       the same Deed & the Act of Assembly in that Case made & Provided And
       the said Elizabeth Lewis being Privately Examined out of the hearing
       of her said Husband acknowledged that she did the Same willingly &
       freely of her own consent without being induced thereto by fears or
       threats of her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure--Taken and
       acknowledged the Day & Year above written before me

       26.th Feb.ry 1740/1 Then received of John Brice five Shillings Sterling money
       for the Use of the Right Honble the Lord Baltimore being the Alienation
       fyne on the within mentioned Land

Ex.d Maryland fs.t   This Indenture made the twenty
       third Day of October Seventeen Hundred & forty Between
       Henry Bennett of Queen Anns County in the Province aforesaid
       and Margarett his Wife one of the Daughters & Coheiresses of Hugh
       Kennedy late of Ann Arundell County in the said Province deceased
       and Elizabeth Kennedy of the said Ann Arundell County
       Spinster the other Daughter & Coheiress of the said Hugh Kennedy
       of the one Part and Henry Baker of Cecil County in the said
       Province of the other Part Witnesseth that whe^re^as the Right
       Honourable the Lord Proprietary of the said Province by
       his Letters Pattent bearing Date the twelfth Day of August
       in the Year Seventeen Hundred ^and^ twenty for the Consideration
       therein mentioned did grant unto the af.d Hugh Kennedy
       All that Tract of Land lying in Cecil County called
