       Ex.d By this Publick Instrument of Procuration or Letter of Attorney
       Be it known & Manifest unto all those that shall see these Presents
       or hear the same Read That on the thirteenth Day of November in the
       Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred & forty Taht That I Alex.r
       Black of London at Present in Maryland Merchant have made Ordained
       Constituted Authorizes & Appointed & by these presents do Make
       Ordain Constitute Authorize & Appoint Thomas Caton of South River
       Maryland my true & Lawfull Attorney Giving & by these Presents
       Granting unto my said Attorney full Power & Lawfull Authority for
       me the said Constituent in my name and to my use to Ask Demand
       Levy Sue for any by all Lawfull ways and means Recover & Receive  
       of & from all & every or any Person or Persons whatsoever whom
       it may or shall ^or may^ Concern Inhabiting in Maryland Great Britain
       or the Provinces thereunto belonging all such Sum & Sums of
       Money Goods Wares Merchandizes Effects Estate & things whatsoever
       wich now are or shall or may hereafter be due Oweing Payable
       belonging or in any wise Appertaining unto me the said
       Constituent whether by Bond Note Bill Book Debt Account
       Judgment Consignment or other wise whatsoever and to that
       End with the said Person or Persons Concerned to Account and
       to View Settle and Adjust all Accounts and the Ballances thereof
       to receive And upon Recoverys and receipts to give one or
       more acquittances or other Sufficient discharges in due form
       of Law But in case of refusal or Delay by the said Person or
       Persons Concerned to make good & Render a just & true Account
       Payment Delivery & Satisfaction in the Premisses him her
       or them ^thereunto^ to Compell by all Lawfull Ways & means whatsoever
       Also if Need be to Appear before all or any Lords Judges
       & Justices in any Court or Courts there to answer Defend and
       Reply in all matters & Causes touching or Concerning the
       Premisses and to do Say Persue Implead Seize Sequester
       Attach Arrest imprison & to Condemn and out of Prison again
       to Deliver And Generally in & Concerning the Premisses
       to do Perform & Execute all & whatsoever shall be
