(59) of Duty in their Respective Offices or Imployments from the further Execution of his or their Respective Office or Offices And Wee Do ^also^ hereby authorize and impower him the said Alexander Spotswood to allot order & settle from time to time the salaries or allowances which each Deputy Officer Agent or Servant who shall be imployed in or about the said posts shall be paid for their Trouble Case or Charge in their Respective Offices And We do hereby Give Grant and appoint to the said Alexander Spotswood for his Care pains & trouble in the Performance and Execution of his Office and trust hereby Granted & Committed unto him And he is to receive or be allowed in his accounts out of the Revenue ariseing to his Majesty by the port of Letters within the said Provinces and Dominions such yearly sallary and also such further allowances emoluments and advantages and in such manner as is and are contained and mencond to be so given Granted and allowed him in and by Certain Articles of Agreement bearing even date with this our Deputation or Deed of Poll and made or mencond to be made between us the said Edward Carteret and Edward Harrison Esq.rs as his Majest.ts Postmaster General of the one part and the said Colonell Alexander Spotswood of the other part And we do hereby supersead Revoke and make null and void all and every other Deputation Constitution or appointment made Given or Granted by us or by any Former Post Master General to John Loyd Esq.r or to any other person or persons whatsoever to execute the office of Deputy Post Master Generall or to Mannage the posts settled in his Majesties provinces and Dominions in America or any part thereof and do hereby Declare the same to be from the twenty fourth day of June next ensuing Null and void and do hereby further Depute authorize & appoint the said Alexander Spotswood to Enter on and take Possession of his said office & Trust any Other Deputation Constitution or appointment whatsoever Notwithstanding In Witness Whereof ^we^ the said Edward Carteret & Edward harrison Esq.rs have hereunto set our Hands and Caused the Seale of our Office to be hereunto affixed this ninth day of February 1729 In the Third Year of His Majesties Reign Edw.d Carteret The Seale E Harrison of the Office At a Court Held For Spostsylvania County August the 4.th 1730 |
