(1) x.d   Know all Men by these Presents that I Hercules Ayleway
             Late of the Island of S.t Christophers but now of the City
             of Annapolis and County of Ann Arundell in the Province of
             Maryland Gent Having Bargained with for and Bought of
             Robert Carrington Late of the Island of Barbados but now
             of the aforesaid City of Annapolis and County aforesaid Merchant
             Three Negroe Slaves (Vizt) Two men Named Cezar
             and Sampson and a Woman Named Hannah and having
             Drawn a Sett of Bills of Exchange on M.r James Fuller
             Merchant in London bearing Date May the Twentieth
             One Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty One for Thirty Seven
             pounds ten shillings Sterling Money of Great Brittain
             (being the Agreed Price of Said Negroes) payable to the
             Said Robert Carrington or his Order in London And
             Whereas I the Said Hercules Ayleway and Suddenly to
             Depart this Province to the aforesaid Island of S.t Christophers
             and the Said Robert Carrington being willing and Desireous
             to have further security for payment of Said
             Bills in Case that Said Bills of Exchange should not meet
             with Due Honour and Payment according to the Tenour of
             the same Do Therefore in further Security and Payment
             of the said sume of Thirty seven pounds ten shillings sterl
             and intrest and Damages ariseing from the same in Case not
             being in London paid assign Transferr and sett over unto
             Robert Gordon of the City of Annapolis and Province of Maryland
             Esq.r but to the proper use Benefitt of said Rob.t Carrington
             the above mencond Negroes (Vizt) Cezar and Sampson
             (Men) & Hannah a Woman and in Case such Bills happen
             not to be duly paid according to the Tennour of the same
             I doe hereby Declare hath the said Three Negroes are & shall
             be as fully and amply to all intents and purposes the
             proper Estate Benefitt and Title of Said Robert Carrington
             and I doe hereby Oblidge myselfe my heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs & assignes
             in Case of Default of the Bills then Imediatly on the Return of
             the same to Deliver the aforesaid three Negroes into the Custody
             and possession of the aforesaid Robert Gordon Esq.r or to any
             other the Certain Attorney Heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs or assignes of Said
             Robert Carrington To have hold and Enjoy the Said three
             Negroes (Vizt) Cesar and Sampson (Men) and Hannah a
