(158) x.d  Maryland fs Whereas I Christopher Vernon am again Departing this
                province to the Kingdom of great Brittan having sustained great Losses
                and damages severall times by trusting to my Childrens care Industry &
                Endeavers also no one haveing any just claim or demands from me nor any
                cause of accon against me Do hereby impower depute intrust & in possession
                put Elizabeth Anchketil into my dwelling house outhouses
                and plantacons and all the appurtenances thereto belonging for her to
                manage the affairs & businesse thereof as shee shall think fitt & convenient
                I also appoint her & no other person (when need requires and opportunity
                offers) forme and to my particular use and behoof ^benefit^ to sell and dispose of
                Indian Corn English Grain syder horses Mares & Colts Cows & Calves steers hoggs
                and Tobacco and any other Goods wares & Merchandize I shall have in her
                custody and render a just & true account thereof att my return to Maryland
                I further hereby deliver into her possession & putt under her care all my Negroes
                (viz.t) Jack & Dinah Sampson Maria & Jackoe Jacob & Jenny Philhs & Sarah
                as for y.e Negro Girl Dinah she is att Ruth Clarks to learn nedle work
                I finding her Cloths But the said Elizabeth Ancketill hath not power
                to sell or any ways dispose of any the said Negroes nor take any of
                them off from my dwelling plantacon unless upon Extraordinary occasion
                & for my own proper use & benefitt And For as much as George Martin
                ^is a^ forsworn Villian ab.t marrying my daughter contrary to my Express
                consent he being under y.e Notion of a pirate & a pocky unaccomptable Rascall
                & Villain likewise he was nigh opening my Closett door & my Chest to have
                stole from thence my Moneys & writings but I prevented him and after
                altho I used Forbearances kindnesses & contiauall helps in doing for him &
                his in his absence lending giveing & trusting him yett as time p.rsents he
                is often curseing me to my Face damming & threating me behind my
                back he hath likewise debauched his wife w.th such like principles
                threating to sett for on all I have curseing my Goods Cattle & Negroes
                wishing us all burneing in hell Fire p.rtending I promised to Give
                my Daughter 500.ll And as I hope for mercy att the hands of Allmighty
                God I really & from my heart say I would rather have given 500.ll
                w.th her to my Negroe man Sampson I always did & now doe abhorr y.e
                sight of him I likewise disown his wife and count her as illegitimate
                I also hereby Give unto the s.d Eliz.a Ancketill full power & absolute authority
                to psecute y.e s.d George Martin & Ann his wife to y.e Death if att any time any
