(House Bill 1086)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 51(s)
of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Supple-
ment), title "County Commissioners," subtitle "County Treas-
urer," relating to the salary of the County Treasurer of Talbot
County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 51(s) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1969 Supplement), title "County Commissioners," subtitle "County
Treasurer," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

(s) Talbot County.

The county treasurer of Talbot County shall receive an annual
salary of [$5,000;] $8,500; he shall receive no additional compen-
sation from the State, county, or any local government. The treas-
urer shall meet with and advise the Commissioners of Talbot Coun-
ty, upon their request, and shall inform them of the fiscal status
and fiscal affairs of said county as said Commissioners, in their
discretion, may deem advisable.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this
Act shall not be construed to extend or apply to the county treasurer
of Talbot County in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
provisions of this Act shall take effect with the next term of office.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 76(b),
(c) and (d) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Charles County
(1969 Edition, being Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Charles County," subtitle "County Commis-
sioners," to amend the laws concerning scholarships for certain
nurses and technicians in Charles County in order to change the
procedure and the requirements for award of these scholarships.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 76(b), (c) and (d) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Charles County (1969 Edition, being Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Charles County," subtitle
"County Commissioners," be and they are hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, and to read as follows.
