Annotated Code of Maryland as amended. Beginning with the
term of office next following June 1, 1963, each County Commis-
sioner shall receive a salary of sixty-five hundred dollars ($6,500.00)
per annum and said allowance for expenses, and the three County
Commissioners shall thereafter meet in order to conduct the busi-
ness of Carroll County at least four full days in each week. Be-
ginning with the term of office of the County Commissioners elected
in November, 1970, each of the three County Commissioners shall
receive a salary of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) SIX THOU-
SAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($6,500.00) per annum and
said allowance for expenses. The three Commissioners shall there-
after hold at least two regularly-scheduled meetings each week and
shall schedule such additional meetings as they deem necessary to
properly conduct the business of Carroll County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 371
(House Bill 1101)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 8 of
Article 51 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Supple-
ment), title "Juries," to allow exemption from jury duty on per-
sonal request in certain cases.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 8 of Article 51 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1969 Supplement), title "Juries," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

There shall be no exemptions from jury service; provided, how-
ever, that any person having reached the age of seventy (70) years
or older may be exempted from jury service by making a written
request for such exemption to the jury commissioner or clerk re-
sponsible for summoning jury panels.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.
