vestigation, and he shall employ, subject to the approval of the
County Commissioners of Washington County, a competent man at a
salary to be fixed by the County Commissioners, to conduct the work
of said Bureau, the man so appointed to be capable of doing finger
print, photographic, criminal investigation, and detective work, and
to devote so much of his time as the State's Attorney may direct to
criminal identification and criminal investigation work in Hagers-
town and Washington County, under the direction and supervision
of the State's Attorney. The County Commissioners of Washington
County shall also pay printing, stationery, telephone, stamps,
traveling expenses, and other expenses that may be necessary for
the maintenance of said Bureau [not to exceed Forty Dollars
($40.00) per month,] and shall levy for the same as expenses of the
State's Attorney's office. Bills for all expenses of said Bureau must
be presented direct to the County Commissioners for payment by
the County Commissioners, made out and sworn to on the regular
forms in use by the County Commissioners and must be certified
to by the State's Attorney, and all false swearing in such affidavits
shall be deemed perjury and be punished as such.

[(b) An office shall be provided for the said Bureau at Police
Headquarters in the City of Hagerstown, Maryland.]

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 68
(House Bill 651)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 1 to 22, inclusive, of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Washington County (1957 Edition, being Article 22
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Washington
County,'* subtitle "Almshouse," repealing certain obsolete and
unnecessary local laws of Washington County concerning the
trustees of the poor of Washington County and the maintenance
and operation of an almshouse in Washington County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 1 to 22, inclusive, of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Washington County (1957 Edition, being Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Washington County," subtitle
"Almshouse," be and they are hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.
