the property is seized; thereafter the county treasurer shall proceed
as required by the terms of State law and no personal property sold
by the county treasurer under this section shall be redeemable by
the owner or owners thereof or anyone claiming under him or them
as is now provided in the sale of real estate, but the purchaser thereof
shall acquire a good and perfect title thereto on the day of sale; the
county treasurer shall receive, in addition to the cost of advertise-
ment, the following fees under this section: Levy, $2; setting up of
notices, $1; crying sales, $1; attorney's fee for reporting same, $1,
and five per cent commission on proceeds of sale.]

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this Act con-
cerning the salary of the county treasurer of Caroline County shall
be construed or applied to affect the salary of the treasurer of the
county who is in office on the effective date of this Act for the re-
mainder of the term in which he then is serving. The change in salary
provided in this Act for the county treasurer of Caroline County shall
take effect at the beginning of the term of the county treasurer which
begins next after the effective date of this Act.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 225
(House Bill 1321)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 158(d)
of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Boards of
License Commissioners," providing for a full-time executive sec-
retary to the board of license commissioners of Anne Arundel
County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 158(d) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1968 Replacement Volume), title "Alcoholic Beverages," sub-
title "Boards of License Commissioners," be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

158.

(d) In Anne Arundel County (1) the mayor, counsellor and
aldermen of Annapolis shall have the power to make and enforce such
rules, regulations and restrictions, in addition to, or in substitution
of, those contained in this article, but not inconsistent therewith, as
in the judgment of said mayor, counsellor and aldermen of the City
of Annapolis would give said municipality more effective control of
each of said places of business.

(2) In addition to the powers given to the board of license com-
missioners for Anne Arundel County in subsections (a) and (b) of
this section, the board is authorized to employ one part-time chief
