ever, including his capacity as a tax collector and the issuer of
licenses. Any fees, commissions or other compensation paid to the
county treasurer pursuant to any other laws of Caroline County or
the State of Maryland shall be accounted for by the county treasurer
and paid into the general funds of Caroline County.

83.

The drainage taxes levied and collected in this manner shall remain
in the county treasury until disbursed by the county treasurer upon
orders drawn and signed by the board of managers. The county
treasurer shall keep a separate record for each public drainage
association in his county, which record shall show all receipts and
expenditures. The county treasurer shall be entitled to retain three
per centum of the drainage taxes collected in this manner, as com-
pensation for his services [.] except in Caroline County where all
fees collected by the treasurer pursuant to this section shall be
deposited by him in the general fund of Caroline County.

33.

(a) The county treasurer of each county in this State, shall act
as the agent of the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles in the registra-
tion of motor vehicles of the Class A passenger or pleasure type, all
motor trucks which are privately owned and not operated for hire,
and trailers and semitrailers of the Class G type which are privately
owned and not operated for hire and the issuance of metal plates or
markers, as provided in Section 32 of this article, in like manner as
if application had been made at the office of the Commissioner of
Motor Vehicles. Each county treasurer shall remit to the Commis-
sioner of Motor Vehicles at the close of each week all fees collected
by him for the registration of motor vehicles, together with a com-
plete record of such registration made by him during each day,
except the fifteen cent fee paid to him by the applicant for his serv-
ices in issuing the certificate of registration and metal plates or
marker. Each applicant for registration of a motor vehicle shall,
in addition to the registration or license fees required by this article,
pay a fee of fifteen cents for the services rendered by the county
treasurer in connection with such registration, this fee to be de-
ducted each week before remitting to the said Commissioner of
Motor Vehicles. Provided that, in Caroline County all fees collected
by the treasurer pursuant to this subsection shall be deposited by
him in the general fund of Caroline County to be used if necessary
for the extra expense of licensing and as directed by the county
commissioners.
Each of the county treasurers so directed to issue
tags shall first provide to the State of Maryland a bond in such form
and in such amount as prescribed by the Comptroller, the premium
for which shall be paid by the Department of Motor Vehicles as part
of its regular administrative expenses.

If personal property is levied upon, the County Treasurer may
take actual possession thereof if he deems same to be expedient and
the said personality so levied upon shall be sold for cash at some
convenient and public place within the said county after ten days'
notice by hand-bills set up in five public places in the district in which
