(1969 Supplement) title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Civil
Jurisdiction," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

6. Monetary limitations of jurisdiction.

(d) Trial magistrates of Allegany, Cecil, Somerset, and Queen
Anne's counties shall have civil jurisdiction in all cases hereinbefore
mentioned in this section, instituted after June 1, 1959, in Allegany
County; after [June 1, 1955] July 1, 1970, in Cecil County; after
June 1, 1967, in Somerset County; after June 1, 1959, in Queen
Anne's County; and involving amounts not exceeding five hundred
dollars; except that in Cecil County cases involving [in excess of
$100.00] amounts not exceeding one thousand dollars may be tried
[only] before the trial magistrate who sits in Elkton [, provided,
however, that the substitute trial magistrate when sitting in Elkton
may try cases involving in excess of $100.00].

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 208
(House Bill 1087)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 33(c)
of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Administration
—Registration—Titling," to require additional funds collected by
the county treasurer of Talbot County be placed in a general fund
of the county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 33(c) of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1967 Replacement Volume), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle
"Administration—Registration—Titling," be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

33.

(c) The following counties shall leave the decision as to whether
or not this section shall apply to the board of county commis-
sioners of the respective counties by appropriate resolution: Car-
roll, Dorchester, Frederick, Prince George's, Worcester, Washington
and Wicomico. The tax collector for the first tax collection district
of Allegany County is hereby authorized and directed to act as the
agent of the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles in the registration of
motor vehicles and trucks, as specified in this section; provided,
however, that the fee of fifteen cents and other revenues received
by said collector for the issuance of the plates shall be paid to the
County Commissioners of Allegany County and all said monies shall
be placed in a general fund of the county. The county treasurers
of Anne Arundel County, Cecil County, Somerset County, Calvert
County, Harford County and Garrett County are hereby mandatorily
