Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this Act
shall not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of the Sheriff
in the office on the effective date of this Act but the provisions of
this Act shall take effect with the next term of office.
Sec 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

(House Bill 1052)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 35(d) of
Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement
Volume and 1969 Supplement), title "Workmen's Compensation,"
subtitle "Application of Article; Extra-Hazardous Employments,"
to entitle prisoners injured or killed while engaged in extra-
hazardous employment in Dorchester County to claim Workmen's
Compensation benefits.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 35(d) of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume and 1969 Supplement), title "Workmen's
Compensation," subtitle "Application of Article; Extra-Hazardous
Employments," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
35.
(d) The provisions of this section apply only in the counties
of Frederick, Wicomico, Anne Arundel, Harford, Washington [and],
Worcester, and Dorchester.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.
