2808 Municipal Charters
(1) Utility companies regulated by the Public Service Commission
of Maryland, when engaged in the installation or repair of company owned
and maintained equipment on customer premises, as well as on their own
premises in Howard County.
(2) Contractors engaged by a utility to perform work on its own
premises or on company owned and maintained equipment on customers'
premises in Howard County.
(3) Radio, and television transmitting stations, licensed and com-
missioned by the Federal Communications Commission's Regulations.
(4) Employees of the United States Government when engaged in
the performance of their official duties only.
(5) Employees of the State of Maryland when engaged in the per-
formance of their official duties only.
(6) Contractors or servicemen engaged by the United States Gov-
ernment or by the State of Maryland to perform work or render service
on Government or State owned premises and equipment in Howard County.
(7) One (1) family homeowner, where changes to existing wiring
may be made, provided the person making such changes is the homeowner-
occupant. He shall, before making such changes, obtain permission in
writing from the Board of Electrical Examiners, and he then must file an
application for inspection of such work with the Inspection Agent of the
Bureau of Inspections, Licenses and Permits.
(8) One (1) family homeowner, engaged in the repair or replace-
ment of portable appliances, lighting fixtures, fuses, lamps, sockets, or the
making of other minor repairs at existing outlets in his own residence.
(9) Unless otherwise required by this Act, no person, firm, or
corporation engaged in the manufacture, or assembly of electrical equip-
ment manufactured by such persons, firm or corporation, or manufactured
for such person, firm or corporation by a parent or subsidiary, shall be
required to hold or to employ the holder of any of the licenses provided
for by this Act solely by reason of such manufacture, or assembly.
3.304—Classes of Licenses
(a) Master Electrician—General
(1) This license shall be issued to any person or the representative
of any person, firm or corporation determined to be eligible under this
Act. Any firm or corporation shall be entitled to receive this license if,
and so long as at least one of its employees is the holder of a Master
Electrician—General License.
(2) Such license shall authorize the holder to perform or have per-
formed under his supervision, any of the work described in Section 3.303
hereof.
(3) If such license is held by a firm, or corporation, any of the work
described in Section 3.303 hereof, may be performed for itself or for others.
(b) Master Electrician—Restricted
(1) This license shall be issued to any person, firm, or corporation
determined to be eligible under this Act, and shall authorize the holder
to install, maintain or repair the particular type or types of electrical
equipment specified in the license.
