continue each year during active service of the recipient as a member
of the respective department FOR LIFE. The award shall be signified by
an appropriate insignia to be displayed on the left forearm sleeve of the
recipient's uniform (WHERE APPLICABLE); such insignia shall be
used for no other purpose.
(C) PATROLMAN WILLIAM J. BOWERS, JR., OF THE ANNE
ARUNDEL COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT, HAVING RISKED HIS
LIFE ON OR ABOUT JUNE 8, 1969 IN A CERTAIN BOMBING INCI-
DENT, IS HEREBY AWARDED THE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE
AWARD OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, AND SHALL BE PAID THE
ANNUAL SUM OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) IN ADDI-
TION TO HIS SALARY, SUCH PAYMENT TO CONTINUE DURING
HIS LIFETIME.
Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the name of
said Subtitle 6, "Vandalism", of said Code and Title, is hereby repealed
and recodified under the new name of "Subtitle 6, Rewards and Citations".
Section 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Ordinance
shall take effect forty-five (45) days from the date it becomes law.

An Ordinance to recodify and renumber Sections 1-218 through
1-237, inclusive (as enacted by Bill No. 38-69), of the Anne Arundel
County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), Title 1, "Administra-
tion", Subtitle 2, "Personnel", Article III, "Employees' Retirement
Plan", to follow immediately after Section 1-220 of said Code, Title
and Subtitle (as enacted by Bill No. 40-69), changing Code references
to provisions now found in Article III of said Code, Title and Subtitle.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
