2496 Municipal Charters
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND, That Sections 3-208 (33)
and (45) of the Anne Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and Supple-
ments) , be and they are hereby repealed.
Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Sections 3-200
and 3-208 (44), (138) and (139) of said Code, Title and Subtitle be and
they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
Section 3-200.
The "Basic Building Code," Fourth Edition, 1965, and Accumulative
Supplement—1968, as published by the Building Officials Conference of
America, Inc. is hereby adopted as the building code for the county for
the control of buildings and structures as herein provided, and each and
all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of the
"Basic Building Code," Fourth Edition, 1965, and Accumulative Supple-
ment—1968, are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as
if fully set out herein, with the additions, insertions, omissions and changes
prescribed in this subtitle. Nothing in this section shall be construed to
amend, alter, eliminate or affect any local additions, insertions, omissions,
or changes to the "Basic Building Code as added [by Bill No. 55-66 and]
or amended by subsequent enactments and as contained in this subtitle.
Section 3-208 (44). Subsection 825.31. Add the following footnote to the
table:
"Note (2) [C]. A 3/8-inch plywood construction deck may be in-
stalled under 25/32 inch wood strip flooring. Maximum joist spacing, 16
inches o.c. Wood flooring shall be installed at right angles to floor joists and
shall be nailed to joist in same manner as a 'single floor'."
Section 3-208 (138). Article 15. Electrical Wiring and Equipment. [De-
lete this entire article and substitute the following:
"All electrical wiring and installations will be accomplished in ac-
cordance with the provisions of the National Electrical Code.] Required
electrical permits and inspection procedures are covered in Title 12, Sub-
title VIII, 'Electricity,' of the Anne Arundel County Code."
Section 3-208 (139). Article 17. Delete the first paragraph and substitute
the following:
"The design and installation of plumbing systems, including sanitary
and storm drainage, sanitary facilities, water supplies and storm water
and sewage disposal in buildings shall comply with the requirements of
this article and accepted engineering practice as defined in the Plumbing
Code of Anne Arundel County [Maryland State Plumbing Code]. Where
any difference in the requirements of this article and the [State] Plumbing
Code occur, the most stringent requirements of either this code or the
[State] Plumbing Code will apply. Required plumbing permits and in-
spection procedures are covered in Title 12, Subtitle XI, 'Plumbing', of
the Anne Arundel County Code."
Section 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new Sections
3-208 (150) through (159), inclusive, be and they are hereby added to said
Code, Title and Subtitle, to follow immediately after Section 3-208 (149)
thereof, to read as follows:
