Graduation from a university or college of recognized standing pref-
erably with major work in recreation or a closely related field, preferably
possession of a Master's degree in recreation; five (5) years of professional
experience in recreation and parks administration; or any equivalent com-
bination of education and experience.
Section 7. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, that new Sections
1-219 AND 1-220 and 1-221 be, and they are hereby added to said Code,
Title, Subtitle and Article, to follow immediately after Section 1-218
thereof, as added by Bill No. 97-67, to read as follows:
Section 1-219.
Any employee assigned to the hourly pay schedule shall be placed
in that increment of the pay grade that will result in an increase of not
less than twenty cents ($.20) per hour, but not higher than the maximum
rate of that pay grade. Employees assigned to the annual pay schedule
shall be placed in that increment of the pay grade that will result in an
increase of not less than five per cent (5%), but not higher than the
maximum rate of that pay grade. No employee shall receive more than
one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) in increased annual pay during the 1970
fiscal year.
Any employee whose pay rate, pursuant to those provisions, is adjusted
and placed below a regular increment in the pay grade, shall have his pay
rate raised to that increment effective on the beginning day of the first pay
period following July 1, 1970.
Section 1-221 1-220
In order to maintain this compensation plan in a competitive position
with area employers, the Personnel Officer shall conduct a review of this
compensation plan once every two years from January 1, 1969. Such review
shall include a comprehensive survey of pay and other employee benefit
practices of other employers in the appropriate labor markets, and the
development of revisions in this compensation plan and all related provis-
ions.
Section 8. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the provisions
of this Ordinance shall take effect on the beginning day of the weekly and
bi-weekly payroll periods immediately following July 1, 1969.
Section 9. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, that this Ordinance
shall take effect forty-five days after it becomes law.
