Bill No. 5-69
An Ordinance to add new Section 17-703(j) to the Anne Arundel
County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), title 17, "Taxation,"
Subtitle 7, "Miscellaneous Taxes," to follow immediately after Section
17-703(i) thereof, creating the Crofton Community District, and
matters generally related thereto.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND, That new Section 17-703(j),
Title 17, "Taxation," Subtitle 7, "Miscellaneous Taxes," be and it is hereby
added to the Anne Arundel County Code, (1967 Edition and Supplements),
to follow immediately after Section 17-703(i) thereof, and to read as
follows:
(j) CROFTON COMMUNITY DISTRICT. There is hereby created
the Crofton Community District. The limits of this district shall be the
area known as Crofton and Crofton Park and defined by a boundary
starting at a point at the southwest corner of the Chapman property,
at which point the property line meets Md. Rt. 3, thence southerly along
the eastern boundary of Rt. 3 to the northern edge of the Pigeon House
property thence easterly and thence southerly along said boundary to
its junction with Md. Rt. 450, thence easterly along Md. Rt. 450 for
3,089.86 ft. thence northerly on a bearing N 0° 6' 10" E for 1,683 ft.
thence on a bearing S 60° 54' 20" E for 1,902.82 ft. thence on a bearing
N 70° 15' 40" E for 835 ft. thence on a bearing N 66° 8' 20" W for 642.9
ft. thence on a bearing N 42° 53' 30" W for 237.81 ft. thence on a bearing
N 71° 10' 10" for 3,016.46 ft. to its junction with Md. Rt. 424 thence
northwesterly along Rt. 424 to the eastern corner of the Sterling property
following such property line southwesterly thence northwesterly thence
northeasterly until it again meets Rt. 424 thence continuing northwesterly
along Rt. 424 to its junction with Rt. 3 thence southerly along Md. Rt. 3
to the north boundary of the Chapman property following such property
line easterly then southerly then westerly to the point of beginning. The
purposes of this district are for special police protection, maintenance of
public areas such as entrance ways, Crofton Parkway median strip,
maintenance of recreation areas, maintenance of gas lights on public
lands, such other services as the Board of Directors of the Crofton Civic
Association may HAVE APPROVED indicate in their annual budget
request AS ADOPTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL, and the expenses
necessary to administer the above services.
Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Ordinance
shall take effect forty-five (45) days from the date it becomes law.
