Evening Sun, on motion of Mr. Babylon, seconded by Mr. Mathias and
duly passed.

An Ordinance providing interim zoning regulations in the area pro-
posed for annexation was discussed in detail. Thereafter, the Ordinance,
proposed to be No. 338, was read and introduced on motion of Mr. Babylon,
seconded by Mr. Mathias and duly passed.

The offer by Truman B. Cash of his property at 97 West Main Street
for a parking lot site was discussed, and thereafter rejected at the present
time on motion of Mr. Mathias, seconded by Mr. Conaway and duly passed.

The inquiry of Ralph G. Hoffman pertaining to availability of water
service on Cranberry Road was ordered tabled until water usage in the
subject area, and in areas in which the City has heretofore made com-
mitments, could be developed, on motion of Mr. Babylon, seconded by
Mr. Mathias and duly passed.

The request of Ryle D. Close for water service in a proposed develop-
ment on Washington Road, south of Hook Road, was discussed. It was
agreed that the location is not within a reasonable distance of existing
facilities and that existing facilities are not adequate for

CITY OF WESTMINSTER, MARYLAND
September 9, 1968

A public hearing by The Mayor and Council was held in City Hall
on the evening of September 9, 1968, at 8:00 p.m., pursuant to the require-
ments of the Public General Laws of Maryland, concerning the Petition
for Annexation of the Myerberg property, currently known as West-
minster Apartments.

Following the opening remarks by Mayor Hahn and the explanation
of the Annexation Statute by City Attorney Walsh, the hearing was
opened for discussion from persons residing in or owning property in the
present and proposed Corporate areas.

Mr. Alvin Myerberg, proponent for annexation, gave a detailed ex-
planation on development plans for the proposed annexed area. There
were no opponents present.

Thereafter, on motion of Mr. Babylon, seconded by Mr. Freeman and
duly passed, the final passage of the Resolution on Annexation of the area
known as Westminster Apartments was adopted.

There being no further business, on motion of Mr. Freeman, seconded
by Mr. Babylon and duly passed, hearing was adjourned.

October 14, 1968

The October meeting of The Mayor and Council was held in the
Council Chamber on the evening of October 14, 1968, at 7:30 o'clock p.m.
Mayor Hahn; Council President Sellman; Councilmen Babylon, Conaway,
Freeman and Mathias; City Attorney Walsh and City Manager Eckard
were present and acted throughout.

The meeting was opened with prayer by the Reverend James Moss,
Pastor of the Westminster Church of God.
