2356 Municipal Charters
Be it enacted and ordained by the Mayor and City Council of the
City of New Carrollton that Section 6(b) of the Charter of the City of
New Carrollton is amended as follows:
"NOMINATING PETITION"
"Any qualified person desiring to run for elective office of said Town
shall file, or there shall be filed in his behalf, with the Mayor and Council,
a petition containing the request of at least ten persons who are qualified
voters in the City of New Carrollton, [at least fifteen days] no later than
noon of the thirtieth day including Sundays and legal holidays prior to
the election. The Mayor and Council shall cause to be published, in ap-
propriate manner to give publicity, the names of the candidates at least
seven days including Sundays and legal holidays prior to the election."

Resolution of the Council of the Town of New Market, Maryland
adopted pursuant to the authority of Article 11-E of the Constitution
of Maryland and Articles 23A and 23B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957) as amended,
ENTITLED
A RESOLUTION TO GENERALLY AMEND CHARTER
AMENDMENT RESOLUTION NO. 1, DATED SEPTEMBER 28,
1959, TO CORRECT A TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR IN THE TITLE
AND SECTION 1 OF THE SAME AS ENACTED BY SAID CHAR-
TER AMENDMENT RESOLUTION NO. 1, AND TO ADOPT SUB-
STANTIALLY THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 23B OF THE
ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND, TITLE "MUNICIPAL COR-
PORATION CHARTER."
Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of New
Market, Maryland that Charter Amendment Resolution No. 1, dated Sep-
tember 28, 1959, be repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:
