2322                               Municipal Charters

"22A. The Council shall have the power to codify, or recodify, in
permanent or looseleaf form, from time to time any or all of the laws
and ordinances of the City, and the City Charter, and such other laws
or ordinances as they may deem appropriate for inclusion in such cod-
ification, and to publish periodic supplements to any such codification.
In the process of codification or recodification, the Council shall have
the power to amend or repeal any or all of the ordinances of the City
heretofore or hereafter adopted, by changes, alterations, amendments or
deletions in any codification, or any supplement thereto. Except as may
otherwise be required by law, no notice of any such amendment shall
be required, other than notice of the adoption or approval of such cod-
ification, re-codification, or supplement thereto."

I, Harold C. Morris, Mayor of the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland,
do hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a
Resolution passed by the Mayor and City Council of Gaithersburg at a
public meeting assembled this 5th day of August, 1968.

Resolution No. R-5-69

A Resolution authorizing the annexation by the City of Gaithersburg
of approximately 234.2206 acres of land located to the Northeast of
the present corporate boundaries and adjacent thereto and extending
along the North side of Route 124.

Whereas, the Mayor and City Council of Gaithersburg have received
a Petition consenting to the proposed enlargement of the corporate bound-
aries of the City of Gaithersburg, so as to include an area encompassing
234.2206 acres of land located to the northeast of the present corporate
boundaries and adjacent thereto and extending along the north side of
Route 124.

Whereas, the signatures of the said Petition of Consent have beep
verified and it has been ascertained that the persons signing said Peti-
tion are owners of not less than twenty-five percent (25%) of the assessed
valuation of the real property located in the area to be annexed and
represent at least twenty-five percent (25%) of the persons who reside
in the area to be annexed and who are registered as voters in County
elections.

Whereas, from the provisions of Section 19(b), of Article 23(a) of
the Annotated Code of Maryland, 1957 Edition, as amended, it is mandatory
that the following Resolution be introduced.

Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and City Council of
Gaithersburg, that a new section to the Charter of the City of Gaithers-
burg be added. Said new section to be known as Section gg, to provide
for the enlargement of the corporate boundaries of the City of Gaithers-
burg, by including the following area, which is added to the City of
Gaithersburg:
