There shall be a Planning and Zoning Commission which shall consist
of 5 members, namely, a member of the Board of Alderman, and 4 persons,
all residents of the City of Frederick, who shall be appointed by the
Mayor with the advice and consent of the Board of Aldermen. The term
of the ex officio member shall correspond to his official tenure. The term
of each member shall be 5 years or until his successor takes office, except,
that the respective terms of the 5 members first appointed shall be
1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 years. The present members of the Planning and Zoning
Commission shall continue to serve as members until this Resolution be-
comes effective, after which the Planning and Zoning Commission shall
be appointed within 30 days in accordance herewith. The Commission
shall appoint 1 of its members as chairman. All members of the Com-
mission shall serve as such without compensation. Members may be re-
moved by the Board of Aldermen after a hearing, for inefficiency, neglect
of duties or malfeasance in office.

Section 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the date of the
passage of this Resolution is November 20, 1969, and the amendment
of the Charter of the City of Frederick, hereby enacted, shall become
effective on January 9, 1970, unless a proper petition for a referendum
herein shall be filed as provided by Section 13 of Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, and provided a complete and exact copy
of this Resolution shall be continuously posted at City Hall, Frederick,
Maryland, until December 30, 1969, and provided further that a fair
summary of the proposed amendment shall be published in the News &
Post, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Frederick, once
in each of the weeks of November 25, December 2, 9 and 16, 1969.

Section 3. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDAINED that the
Mayor of Frederick shall send separately by registered mail to the Secretary
of the State of Maryland and the Department of Legislative Reference the
complete text hereof; the date of referendum election, if any; the number
of votes cast for and against the question containing the charter amend-
ment, whether in the legislative body or in a referendum and effective
date of the charter amendment.

A Resolution to amend the Charter of the City of Gaithersburg
by authorizing the Mayor and City Council to codify any and all
of the Laws and Ordinances of the City and to amend or repeal
City Ordinances by codification or supplement to any codification.

BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of
Gaithersburg, Maryland, in public meeting assembled on the 5th day
of August, 1968, that the Charter of the City of Gaithersburg be and it
hereby is amended by adding a new paragraph 22A which shall follow
immediately after paragraph 22 and which shall read as follows:
