ARTICLE XVIII. CHARTER AMENDMENTS.
213. How Amended.
Amendments to this Charter shall be in accordance with Article 11-E
of the Constitution of Maryland and Article 23-A, Sections 11-18 of the
1957 Annotated Code of Maryland, as amended, and such amendment shall
have the same force of law as if they had been enacted by the General
Assembly of Maryland.
Section 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the date of the pas-
sage of this Resolution is March 6, 1969, and the amendment of the Charter
of the City of Frederick, hereby enacted, shall become effective on April
25, 1969, unless a proper petition for a referendum herein shall be filed
as provided by Section 13 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, and provided a complete and exact copy of this Resolution shall be
continuously posted at City Hall, Frederick, Maryland, until April 15,
1969, and provided further that a fair summary of the proposed amend-
ment shall be published in the News & Post, a newspaper of general cir-
culation in the City of Frederick, once in each of the weeks of March 11,
18, 25, 1969 and April 1, 1969.
Section 3. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDAINED that
the Mayor of Frederick shall send separately by registered mail to the Sec-
retary of the State of Maryland and the Department of Legislative Refer-
ence the complete text hereof; the date of referendum election, if any;
the number of votes cast for and against the question containing the charter
amendment, whether in the legislative body or in a referendum and effective
date of the charter amendment.

Resolution No. 2-69
A Resolution to propose an amendment to Article II, Section 10
of the Charter of the City of Frederick, entitled "Meetings," to pro-
vide for one meeting per month during the months of June, July
and August.
Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED, ENACTED AND ORDAINED by
the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Frederick, that the
Charter of the City of Frederick, as the same was enacted by the General
Assembly of Maryland in Chapter 539 of the laws of 1951, be amended in
Article II, Section 10 as follows:
ARTICLE II. THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN.
Section 10. Meetings.
The newly elected Board of Aldermen shall take office and meet on
the second Thursday in [July in] January of the year immediately
following each regular city election year and shall meet in regular session
on the first and third Thursdays in each month thereafter, except that,
during the months of June, July and August the regular meetings of the
Board of Aldermen shall be held only on the first Thursday of each month
and at such other times as may be prescribed by rules. Special meetings
