tion to Amend Section 63 of the Town Charter of Forest Heights,
Maryland, by increasing the maximum permissible expenditure for
supplies, materials, equipment, construction of improvements, or con-
tractual services without written contract," was adopted by the Mayor
and Town Council in regular public meeting on August 20, 1969,
pursuant to the authority of Article XI-E of the Constitution of the
State of Maryland and Article 23A and Article 23B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, as amended):

Be it resolved that the Mayor and Town Council, sitting in public
session on this 20th day of August 1969, do herein amend Section 63 of
the Town Charter by deleting the words "five hundred dollars ($500.00)"
and inserting the words "one thousand dollars ($1,000.00)", so that said
Section of the Town Charter will then read as follows. (New wording
is shown in capital letters and matter deleted is shown in double brackets):

63. (b) (Purchasing and Contracts.) All expenditures for supplies,
materials, equipment, construction of improvements, or contractual service
involving more than ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) [five hun-
dred dollars ($500.00)] shall be made on written contract. The Mayor
and Council shall be required to advertise for sealed bids for all such
written contracts.

Charter Amendment Resolution Number 3 of 1969, adopted on August
20, 1969, shall become effective on October 9, 1969, unless a proper petition
is filed in accordance with the provisions of Section 13, Article 23A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, as amended) on or before
September 29, 1969.

Resolution No. 1-69

A Resolution to propose an amendment to the Charter of the City
of Frederick by repealing Sections 213, 214, 215, 216 and 217 of
Article XVIII, entitled "Charter Amendments", and enacting a new
Section 213 in lieu thereof to stand in the place instead of the sections
so repealed.

Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED, ENACTED AND ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Frederick, that the Charter
of the City of Frederick, as the same was enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland in Chapter 539 of the laws of 1951, be and the same is
hereby amended by repealing Sections 213, 214, 215, 216 and 217 of
Article XVIII, entitled "Charter Amendments", and enacting new Section
213 in lieu thereof to stand in the place instead of the sections so re-
pealed, the same to read as follows:
