Charter Amendment Resolution No. 2 of 1969

Charter Amendment Resolution Number 2 of 1969 by the Mayor
and Town Council of Forest Heights, Maryland, entitled "A Resolu-
tion to amend Section 59 of the Town Charter of Forest Heights,
Maryland, by deleting the (5%) five per centum per annum interest
rate on bonds, notes, or other certificates of indebtedness," was
adopted by the Mayor and Town Council in regular public meeting
on August 20, 1969, pursuant to the authority of Article XI-E of the
Constitution of the State of Maryland and Article 23A and Article
23B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, as amended):

Be it resolved that the Mayor and Town Council, sitting in public
session on this 20th day of August 1969, do herein amend Section 59 of
the Town Charter by deleting the words "not exceed five per centum
(5%) per annum" and inserting the words "be obtained at the lowest
possible rate," so that said Section of the Town Charter will then read as
follows. (New wording is shown in capital letters and matter deleted is
shown in double brackets):

59. (b), Paragraph 2 (Authorization to Borrow Money) Provided,
however, that the total amount of such bonds, notes, or other certificates
of indebtedness outstanding at any one time shall not exceed ten per
centum (10%) of the assessed valuation of all real and personal property
in the Town as appears on the assessment records of Prince George's
County, and that the interest rate on such bonds, notes, or other certificates
of indebtedness shall BE OBTAINED AT THE LOWEST POSSIBLE
RATE [not exceed five per centum (5%) per annum.]

Charter Amendment Resolution Number 2 of 1969, adopted on August
20, 1969, shall become effective on October 9,1969, unless a proper petition
is filed in accordance with the provisions of Section 13, Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, as amended) on or before
September 29, 1969.
