Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Board of County
Commissioners of Washington County is authorized and directed to
make an appropriation to provide for the publication of the Code,
and the Board is further authorized to provide for the sale and
distribution of the Code.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

AN ACT to repeal Section 226 (g) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Harford County (1965 Edition, being Article 13 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Harford County," sub-
title "County Commissioners," and to enact a new Section 226 (g)
in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the section so repealed,
providing for the Director of Recreation and employees of the
Board of Parks and Recreation in Harford County, and relating
generally thereto.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 226(g) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Harford
County (1965 Edition, being Article 13 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Harford County," subtitle "County Com-
missioners," be and it is hereby repealed; and that new Section
226(g) of said Laws, title and subtitle be and it is hereby added,
to stand in the place of the section repealed and to read as follows:
226.
(g) [The Board, subject to the approval of the County Commis-
sioners, may employ such personnel as it may consider necessary
to administer its functions properly. If it employs a Director of
Recreation, he shall be a person with training, experience, and ca-
pacity to initiate and maintain a program of public recreation under
his general supervision; and he shall serve at the pleasure of the
Board. The salaries of all personnel shall be fixed by the Board
subject to the approval of the Commissioners.] From a list of three
names to be submitted by the Harford County Personnel Adminis-
trator, the County Commissioners of Harford County shall employ
a Director of Recreation The minimum qualifications for the Direc-
tor's position are graduation from an accredited college or university
with a major in parks and recreation or a closely related field; plus
seven (7) years of professional experience in parks and recreation
work, five (5) years of which must have been in an administrative
or supervisory capacity. The Director shall be subject to the Harford
County civil service system. The Board of Parks and Recreation
shall employ such other personnel as it may consider necessary to
administer its functions properly and to fix their compensation, sub-
ject to the approval of the County Commissioners. FROM A LIST
