County (1957 Edition, being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Washington County," subtitle "Trespass",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
719.
It shall be unlawful for any person in Washington County to
go upon the lands of another to hunt or fish thereon against the
will and consent of the owner or occupant thereof; and it shall also
be unlawful for any one to enter upon the lands of another and injure
or carry away any grain or fruit, or tear down or injure any fence,
vine, tree or wall, without the consent of the owner or occupant of
said lands first had and obtained; and any one who shall violate any
of the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor, and upon conviction thereof before a justice of the peace
of the said county, shall be fined not less than one nor more than
twenty-dollars and costs, and upon failure to pay the same he shall
be confined in the county jail for a period not exceeding thirty days,
or until the fine and costs are paid, whichever shall first occur ;[;
one-half of said fine to go to the informer and the other half to the
school commissioners of said county for the benefit of the school
fund of said county] .
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

AN ACT. to legalize the 1970 Edition of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Washington County, being Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, published under the direction of
the Board of County Commissioners of Washington County and
edited by Carl N. Everstine, and making provision for the publica-
tion, sale and distribution of this Code.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the 1970 Edition of the Code of Public Local Laws of Wash-
ington County, being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, published under the direction of the Board of County
Commissioners of Washington County and edited by Carl N. Ever-
stine, is legalized. The Code shall contain all public local laws relating
to Washington County following the 1970 regular session of the
General Assembly of Maryland, and it shall contain the charters
of the several municipal corporations within Washington County as
in effect on April 1, 1970. The Code shall be deemed and taken in
all the courts of the State, by all justices of the peace and trial
magistrates of the State, and by all other public officials of the
State and of its several political subdivisions, to be evidence of the
public local laws of Washington County in effect at the time of
compilation.
