2248                               Municipal Charters

Charter Amendment No. 69-3

A Resolution and Ordinance to repeal and re-enact with amend-
ments Section 6-9(a) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County, Maryland, (1963 Edition), titled, "Brentwood,"
and subtitled "Registration," and subheaded "Notice," being a part
of the Charter of the Town of Brentwood, Maryland, and changing
Voter Registration Days from the First and Second Mondays of June
to the First and Second Mondays of April in each year in which there
is a Town Election.

Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED, ENACTED and ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland, that Section 6-9(a) of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County, Maryland,
(1963 Edition), titled, "Brentwood," and subtitled "Registration," and
subheaded "Notice," being a part of the Charter of the Town of Brent-
wood, Maryland, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments to read as follows:

6-9. Registration.

(a) Notice. [The said Supervisor of Election shall appoint by at
least one advertisement in some county newspaper having general circula-
tion in the town, the first and second Mondays of June in each and every
year for registration, on which days the Supervisors of Election shall sit
as registration officials at some easily accessible place in said town to be
named in said advertisement between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.]

There shall be registration of voters on the first and second Mondays
of April in each year, between the hours of 7 A.M. and 7 P.M., on which
day the Supervisors of Election shall sit as registration officials at some
easily accessible place in said town. The date, time and place of registra-
tion shall be advertised in some County newspaper having general circula-
tion in the Town, said publication to appear at least two weeks prior to the
dates of registration.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED and ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland, that any section or
sections of the Charter of the Town of Brentwood, Maryland, which are
inconsistent with the above enacted section, be and the same are hereby
repealed.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED and ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland, that the aforegoing
proposed amendment shall be posted in the Town Hall for a period of at
least forty (40) days following its adoption, and shall further be published
in the Prince George's Post once in each of four consecutive weeks before
the 5th day of March, 1969.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED and ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland, that the proposed
amendment will become and be considered a part of the Municipal Charter
of the Town of Brentwood on the 15th day of March, 1969, unless a peti-
tion is filed pursuant to Article 23(a), Section 13, of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, 1957 Edition as amended, said petition to be filed on or
before the 5th day of March, 1969.
