second Monday in March, and permitting the Mayor and Council to
determine the Supervisors' compensation.

Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED, ENACTED and ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland, that Section 6-8 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County, Maryland, (1963
Edition), titled, "Brentwood," and subtitled "Supervisors of Elections,"
being a part of the Charter of the Town of Brentwood, Maryland, be and
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as
follows:

6-8. Supervisors of Election.

On or before [the second Monday in May] March first in each and
every year there is a town election, the Mayor and Town Council shall
appoint two qualified voters of said town not holding any other office
thereunder as Supervisors of Election, who shall also act as registration
officials and judges of election at any election held during the year succeed-
ing their appointment, and said Supervisors of Election are authorized
to administer oaths in the performance of their duties hereinafter set
forth. In case of a vacancy occurring in said year in the office of Super-
visors of Election, the Mayor and Town Council shall appoint a qualified
person to fill said vacancy occurring in said office. The Supervisors of
Election shall receive [ten dollars each] such compensation as shall be
determined by the Mayor and Town Council
for each and every day they
may be required to serve as judges of election or as registration officials.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED and ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland, that any section or
sections of the Charter of the Town of Brentwood, Maryland, which are
inconsistent with the above enacted Section, be and the same are hereby
repealed.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED and ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland, that the aforegoing
proposed amendment shall be posted in the Town Hall for a period of at
least forty (40) days following its adoption, and shall further be published
in the Prince George's Post once in each of four successive weeks before
the 5th day of March, 1969.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED and ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland, that the proposed
amendment will become and be considered a part of the Municipal Charter
of the Town of Brentwood on the 15th day of March, 1969, unless a
petition is filed pursuant to Article 23(a), Section 13, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, 1957 Edition as amended, said petition to be filed on or
before the 5th day of March, 1969.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED and ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland, that the aforegoing
Resolution and Ordinance be and the same is hereby adopted this 24th
day of January, 1969, by the Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood,
Maryland.
