2246                               Municipal Charters

forty-five dollars for each regular meeting attended, and in no case for
more than two meetings per month and the Mayor shall receive the fees
hereinafter allowed; provided, however, that the compensation of the
Mayor and the members of the Council shall be fixed by the Mayor and
Town Council under this provision at any regular meeting, based upon
available funds as determined by the Mayor and Town Council under
the prevailing tax rate; and provided, further, that the Mayor and the
members of the Council, or any of them, may be reimbursed or paid for
any expenses incurred or losses sustained by them while performing his
or their official duties on behalf of the town. Absences from meetings for
valid reasons may be approved by the Mayor and Council without loss of
compensation. The Mayor and Town Council, in their discretion, may
fix such compensation for the Treasurer as they may deem just and
necessary.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED AND ORDAINED by

the Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood. Maryland, that any section
or sections of the Charter of the Town of Brentwood, Maryland, which
are inconsistent with the above enacted Section, be and the same are
hereby repealed.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED and ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland, that the aforegoing
proposed amendment shall be posted in the Town Hall for a period of at
least forty (40) days following its adoption, and shall further be pub-
lished in the Prince George's Post once in each of four successive weeks
before the 5th day of March, 1969.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED and ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland, that the proposed
amendment will become and be considered a part of the Municipal Charter
of the Town of Brentwood on the 15th day of March, 1969, unless a petition
is filed pursuant to Article 23(a), Section 13, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, 1957 Edition as amended, said petition to be filed on or before
the 5th day of March, 1969.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED and ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland, that the aforegoing
Resolution and Ordinance be and the same is hereby adopted this 24th
day of January, 1969, by the Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood,
Maryland.

"Supervisors of Elections," being a part of the Charter of the Town
of Brentwood, Maryland, and changing the date of appointment of
the Supervisors of Election from the second Monday in May to the
