(3) A commissioned surgeon of any of the Armed Forces of the
United States, the United States Public Health Service Hospitals
or the Veterans Administration while engaged in the performance
of duties incident to his commission.
(4) A physician who resides in a neighboring jurisdiction who is
authorized under the laws of that jurisdiction to practice medicine
therein and whose practice extends into this State, provided the
physician does not open an office or have a regularly appointed
place to meet patients within this State and further provided that
the same privileges are extended to physicians from this State by
the neighboring jurisdiction.
123. Qualifications of applicants for license.
An applicant for a license must:
(1) Be at least twenty-one years of age.
(2) Be of good moral character.
(3) Have the degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Oste-
opathy from a school in the United States or foreign country which
has standards for graduation equal to those standards established
by the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Council on
Medical Education of the American Medical Association, or the
American Osteopathic Association. Applicants having the degree of
Doctor of Osteopathy, in addition to the foregoing, must have com-
pleted a one-year internship in an intern training program approved
by the American Medical Association Council on Medical Education
or such other agency recognized by the National Commission on
Accrediting as an agency for the approval of intern training pro-
grams.
124. License without examination.
(a) The Board shall license without examination the following:
(1) Applicants having the qualifications required by Section 123
and having certificates of proficiency and professional standing of
the National Board of Medical Examiners or Boards of Medical
Examiners of other jurisdictions, the requirements of which are
equal to, or greater than, those of this State, provided that such
other jurisdictions grant the same privileges to licensed physicians
of this State.
(2) Applicants licensed under the provisions of Sections 467-480,
inclusive, of Article 4 of this Code and practicing and residing
in the State of Maryland on June 1, 1967, and graduates on or after
1940 of schools of Osteopathy, approved by the American Oste-
opathic Association, or graduates prior to 1940 of such approved
schools of Osteopathy provided that said applicants have completed
a refresher educational course approved by the Board and were
practicing and residing in the State of Maryland on June 1, 1967.
(b) Nothing herein applies to Doctors of Osteopathy licensed to
practice medicine in other jurisdictions.
(c) Nothing contained herein alters or diminishes the right of
any Osteopath licensed in this State on or before June 1, 1967, to
practice Osteopathy.
