Commissioners may thereupon proceed to fill the same by the ap-
pointment in his stead of a suitable person for the remainder of the
term; and such appointee shall, before he enters upon the duty of
his office, execute and deliver a bond of the tenor and in the like
manner as hereinbefore directed.
51.
(b) The County Treasurer of Allegany County shall receive an
annual salary of not less than [$2,400] $8,500.00, $10,000.00, and
an allowance for expenses incidental to his office, not to exceed $400
per year only during the term of office commencing in the year
[1963] 1971.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

(Senate Bill 334)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 33 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Washington County (1957 Edition,
being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Washington County," subtitle "Billiards," removing from
the penalty provisions in certain laws concerning the playing of
pool, billiards, or bowling in Washington County an obsolete refer-
ence to the payment of fines to informers.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 33 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington
County (1957 Edition, being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Washington County," subtitle "Billiards,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
33.
Any person or persons, firm or corporation, whether proprietor or
person in charge of any pool or billiard room or bowling alley in any
place in Washington County who shall violate any of the provisions
of this subtitle shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction thereof shall be subject to a fine of not less than Fifteen
Dollars ($15.00) nor more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars [;
one-half of any fine so imposed and collected to be paid to the in-
former thereof].
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.
