for EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE suspension of the operator's
license of an employee whose employer's insurer disclaims coverage
of the employee as a result of an accident.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 123A be added to Article 66½, title "Motor
Vehicles," subtitle "Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility," of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume and 1969
Supplement), to follow immediately after Section 123, to read as
follows:
123 A.
(a) The Department may extend the time for EFFECTIVE
DATE OF THE suspension required by Section 122, of the operator's
license of an employee whose bond or insurance is furnished by his
employer, where the employer's insurer disclaims coverage of the
employee at the time of an accident in which the insurer claims that
the employee was operating outside of the scope of his employment.
(b) The Department may authorize the suspension required by
Section 122, where:
(1) There has been a disposition of the question of the em-
ployee's coverage by an agreement between the employer and the in-
surer.
(2) There has been a disposition of the question of the employee's
coverage by a court decision.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37 (d)
of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation and
Duties," increasing the salary of the sheriff and deputy sheriffs
of Calvert County, removing the assignment of one deputy to the
State's Attorney's office, requiring certain State Police training
for deputies, and abolishing the office of "Honorary Sheriff,"
and matters relating generally thereto.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37(d) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Com-
pensation and Duties," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
