[(i) Nor more than four automobiles, plus necessary operating
expenses, including, but not limited to, gasoline, oil, insurance and
repairs;]
[(ii) Radio equipment;]
[ (iii) Office supplies and equipment.]
[(3) The County Commissioners shall in addition provide the
Sheriff the sum of twelve hundred dollars ($1200.) annually, pay-
able in equal monthly installments for his personal expenses in the
conduct of his office.]
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this
Act increasing the Sheriff's salary shall not be construed to extend
or apply to the sheriff in office on the effective date of this Act,
but the provisions of this Act increasing such salary shall take
effect with the next term of office.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 113A of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Calvert County (1963 Edition,
being Article 5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Calvert County," subtitle "Circuit Court," subheading
"Stenographers," as added by Chapter 275 of the Acts of 1969, to
change the conditions of tenure of the secretary to the judge of
the Seventh Judicial Circuit resident in Calvert County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 113A of the Code of Public Local Laws of Calvert
County (1963 Edition, being Article 5 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Calvert County," subtitle "Circuit Court,"
subheading "Stenographers," as added by Chapter 275 of the Acts of
1969 be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
113A.
The judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit resident in Calvert
County subject to approval by the Board of County Commissioners
of Calvert County, may appoint a competent secretary who has had
previous experience in secretarial work, involving duties that dem-
onstrate the ability to make rapid and accurate transcripts and to
exercise independent judgment. [The secretary shall hold the posi-
tion at the pleasure of the judge making the appointment and shall
receive compensation therefor in the following manner:]
