§ 1-149. Motor vehicle.

Motor vehicle means a vehicle which is self-propelled or propelled
by electric power obtained from overhead trolley wires, but not
operated upon rails.

§ 1-150. Motorcycle.

Motorcycle means a motor vehicle having a saddle for the use of
the rider and designed to travel on not more than three wheels in
contact with the ground, including a motor scooter and a bicycle
with motor attached, but excluding a tractor.

§ 1-151. Name.

True or legal name, and in the case of an individual, the name
assigned by his parents at birth, or which has been changed by legal
process in a court of competent jurisdiction, or by marriage.

§ 1-152. New vehicle.

New vehicle means a vehicle, the ownership of which is in a manu-
facturer, distributor, or registered dealer, and which has never been
used to destroy its newness or to convert it into or make it a used
or secondhand vehicle, as these terms are commonly used or under-
stood in trade or business.

§ 1-153. Nonresident.

Nonresident means every person who is not hereinafter defined
as a resident of this State.

§ 1-154. Nonresident's operating privilege.

Nonresident's operating privilege means the privilege conferred
upon a nonresident by the laws of this State pertaining to the oper-
ation by the person of a motor vehicle, or the use of a vehicle
owned by the person, in this State.

§ 1-155. Official traffic-control devices.

Official traffic-control devices means all signs, signals, markings
and devices not inconsistent with this article placed or erected by
authority of a public body or official having jurisdiction for the
purpose of regulating, warning, or guiding traffic.

§ 1-156. Operator.

Operator means every person who drives or is in actual physical
control of a motor vehicle upon a highway or who is exercising con-
trol over or steering a vehicle being towed by a motor vehicle.

§ 1-157. Owner.

Owner means a person having the property in or title to a vehicle.
The term includes a person entitled to the use and possession of a
vehicle subject to a security interest in another person, but excludes
a lessee under a lease not intended as security.
