1969]                               OF THE SENATE                                    63

PRESENTATIONS OF PETITIONS, MEMORIALS
AND OTHER PAPERS

Milton L. Dennis
Assistant Secretary
Senate of Maryland

Newark, Md., November 25, 1969.

Honorable William S. James
President, Senate of Maryland
Office Street
Bel Air, Md. 21078

Dear Mr. President:

For about thirteen years I have had the pleasure of serving the Senate
of Maryland in various capacities. As you know in 1967 and 1968 I had
quite a severe physical shock. I now find that I am physically unable to
carry on as efficiently, as I feel it necessary to perform the duties of the
Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Senate, therefore, it is with con-
siderable regret that I hereby submit ray resignation as Assistant Secre-
tary of the Senate of Maryland effective with the close of business on
December 31, 1969.

Please convey my regrets to the members of the Senate, all of whom
I hold in highest esteem, and sincerely appreciate their tolerance of my
many inefficiencies while trying to serve them.

Please advise your Administrative Assistant, the Honorable John
Waters Parrish and the Secretary of the Senate the Honorable Oden Bowie,
that I am honored to have served with them and regret that I feel I must
take this action.

I greatly appreciate all the assistance and advice you gave me and
your tolerating my many shortcomings.

With the Seasons Greetings to all, and best wishes for a fruitful
legislative New Year, I am

Sincerely yours,

/s/Milton L. Dennis,

Assistant Secretary.
