Stanley Blair Secretary of State State House Annapolis, Maryland 21404 Dear Secretary Blair: Due to my election on November 5, 1968 as Vice President of the United States, I hereby resign the office of Governor of Maryland to take effect at 1:00 p.m., January 7, 1969. By copies of this letter to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Delegates, I am advising both Houses of the Maryland General Assembly of my resignation. REPORT OF THE RULES COMMITTEE Favorable report on all rules contained herein: RULES OF THE JOINT SESSION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND FOR THE ELECTION OF GOVERNOR In conjunction with Special Session of the General Assembly Beginning January 6, 1969 1. (a) The Joint Session (or Convention) of the General Assembly shall operate and follow procedures under the Constitution and laws of the State of Maryland and these Rules.
