(House Bill 743)

AN ACT to add new Section 161Z(a) (13) of Article 23 of the An-
notated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume and 1967
1968 Supplement), title "Corporations," subtitle "Building or
Homestead Associations," to follow immediately after Section 161Z
(a) (12) thereof, to permit savings and loan associations to invest
in stock, obligations etc. of the Federal National Mortgage Associ-
ation.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 161Z(a)(13) of Article 23 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume and 1967 1968 Supplement),
title "Corporations," subtitle "Building or Homestead Associations,"
be and it is hereby added to said Article of said Code, title and subtitle,
to follow immediately after Section 161Z(a) (12) thereof and to
read as follows:

161Z. Investments of Associations.

(a) (13) In stock, obligations, participations or other instruments
of or issued by the Federal National Mortgage Association.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section SEC-
TIONS 14 (e) and 15 of Article 30 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1967 Replacement Volume and 1968 Supplement), title "Deaf,
Mute or Blind," subtitle "Public Assistance to the Needy Blind,"
repealing provisions of the law relating to the effect of solicitation
of alms and attendance at public high schools, institutions of higher
learning, and trade or professional schools, in order to simplify the
law and eliminate possible conflict with regulations governing
federal matching grants.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 14 (e) of Article 30 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1967 Replacement Volume and 1968 Supplement) title "Deaf, Mute
or Blind," subtitle "Public Assistance to the Needy Blind," be and
it is hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 15 of Article 30 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume and
1968 Supplement), title "Deaf, Mute or Blind," subtitle "Public
Assistance to the Needy Blind," be and it is hereby repealed.
