Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 61 of Article 88A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume), title "State Department of Social Serv-
ices," subtitle "Prohibited Acts," BE AND IT IS HEREBY RE-
PEALED, AND RE-ENACTED, WITH AMENDMENTS, AND shall
be transferred to Article 27 of the said Code, title "Crimes and
Punishments," and recodified as Section 704A, to follow immediately-
after Section 704 thereof, to be under the subtitle "Places of Reforma-
tion and Punishment," subheading "Miscellaneous.", TO READ
AS FOLLOWS:

ALL STATE PENAL INSTITUTIONS AND ALL INSTITU-
TIONS, OF A PENAL OR REFORMATORY NATURE, WHOSE
PRIMARY OBJECT IS REFORMATIONAL AND NOT EDUCA-
TIONAL, RECEIVING STATE AID ARE HEREBY FORBIDDEN
TO RAISE FOR SALE, EXCEPT TO OTHER STATE INSTITU-
TIONS OR INSTITUTIONS RECEIVING STATE AID, OR CAN-
NERIES, ANY PERISHABLE VEGETABLE PRODUCE. ANY
PERSON CONNECTED WITH ANY STATE PENAL INSTITU-
TION OR OTHER INSTITUTIONS AS ABOVE SPECIFIED RE-
CEIVING STATE AID VIOLATING ANY OF THE PROVISIONS
OF THIS SECTION, OR TAKING PART IN ANY SUCH VIOLA-
TION, SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR,
AND SHALL, UPON CONVICTION, BE FINED NOT LESS THAN
FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) NOR MORE THAN ONE HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($100.00), AND IF (ANY) AN EMPLOYEE OF A
STATE INSTITUTION, SHALL BE SUBJECT TO REMOVAL.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

(House Bill 741)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 161Z(b)
(4) of Article 23 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Re-
placement Volume, 1967 1968 Supplement), title "Corporations,"
subtitle "Building or Homestead Associations," and to add new
Section 161Z(b)(5) to said Article to follow immediately after
Section 161Z(b) (4) thereof, to permit Savings and Loan Associa-
tions to invest in loans in construction of structures related to
residential use, home and property repairs, alterations, improve-
ments and additions subject to certain regulations.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 161Z(b)(4) of Article 23 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume, 1967 1968 Supplement), title
"Corporations," subtitle "Building or Homestead Associations," be
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and that new Section
161Z(b) (5) be and it is hereby added to said Article and Section of
this Code, all to read as follows:
