Article, title and subtitle, to provide an escalating increase in the
minimum wage law and to repeal special occupational exemptions.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 83 of Article 100 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Supplement), title "Work, Labor and Employment," subtitle
"Wage and Hour Law," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, and to read as follows:

83.

Every employer shall pay to each of his employees, except as may
be provided pursuant to this subtitle, wages at the following rates:

(1)    If such employees have been subject to the provisions of
the Maryland Wage and Hour Law, and Section 83 of Article 100
of the Annotated Code of Maryland prior to June 1, 1967, they shall
receive a wage of not less than $1.15 an hour beginning February 1,
1969 1968, [and] not less than $1.30 an hour beginning February 1,
1969 [.] , not less than $1.45 an hour beginning February 1, 1970,
and not less than $1.60 an hour beginning February 1, 1971.

(2)    All employees as may be subject to the provisions of this
subtitle except those as are included under Section 83(1) of Article
100 of the Annotated Code of Maryland shall receive a wage of
not less than $1.00 an hour from June 1, 1967, not less than $1.15
an hour beginning June 1, 1968, [and] not less than $1.30 an hour
beginning June 1, 1969 [.] , not less than $1.45 an hour beginning
June 1, 1970, and not less than $1.60 an hour beginning June 1, 1971.

Sec. 3 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 313
(House Bill 518)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 61(d)
(1) of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968
Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Administration—
Registration—Titling," to provide that the Department of Motor
Vehicles may refuse to grant a license or continue a license of a
motor vehicle dealer under certain conditions.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 61(d)(l) of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, (1968 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Ad-
ministration—Registration—Titling," be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

       Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 82(e)(10) and

(11) of said Article 100 be and they are hereby repealed.
