the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume and
1968 Supplement), title "Election Code," subtitle "Election Boards
and Employees," to follow immediately after Section 2-6(a) thereof,
and to read as follows:

2-6.

(b) The board in Cecil County shall appoint a chief clerk at an
annual salary to be fixed by the county commissioners. The chief
clerk so appointed shall be skilled in typing and clerical work and he
shall have charge of the proper maintenance of the registration and
voting records in Cecil County, subject to the general supervision of
the board. He shall be appointed upon the basis of his skill and ability
in record keeping without regard to political affiliation and he shall
hold office during good behavior and shall be removable only for in-
competency or immorality upon charges furnished in writing by the
board setting forth the grounds for dismissal and after opportunity
for hearing.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 300
(House Bill 419)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 467 to 474, inclusive, of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition, being Article 4 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore
City," subtitles "Legislative Districts—Wards" and "Councilmanic
and Legislative Districts," Section 474 thereof having been last
amended by Chapter 1 of the Acts of the Special Session of 1964,
repealing certain unnecessary local laws of Baltimore City con-
cerning the division of Baltimore City into wards and the bound-
aries of certain legislative and councilmanic districts therein.

Whereas, There are certain and unnecessary local laws in the Balti-
more City Code concerning the division of the City into wards and
also concerning the boundaries of councilmanic and legislative dis-
tricts; and

Whereas, The Board of Supervisors of Elections of Baltimore
City concurs in the repeal of these sections; now, therefore

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 467 to 474, inclusive, of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Baltimore City (1949 Edition, being Article 4 of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore City," subtitles "Legis-
lative Districts—Wards" and "Councilmanic and Legislative Dis-
tricts," Section 474 thereof having been last amended by Chapter 1 of
the Acts of the Special Session of 1964, be and they are hereby re-
pealed.
