mission. The proceeds of the filing fees shall be accounted for
monthly into the general funds of the State treasury.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect on
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 248
(House Bill 36)

AN ACT to add new Section 36A to Article 21 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume), title "Conveyanc-
ing," subtitle "Conveyances in General," to follow immediately
after Section 36 thereof to provide that when a note or bond has
been satisfied and recorded it shall have the same effect as a release
of the property for which it is the security as a release executed by
the named trustee.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 36A be and it is hereby added to Article 21 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume), title
"Conveyancing," subtitle "Conveyances in General," and to follow
immediately after Section 36 thereof, and to read as follows:

36A. Additional Method of Release; Recordation; Effect

When the debt secured by a deed of trust is fully paid or satisfied,
and the bond,, or bonds, note or notes, or other evidence or evidences
of the total indebtedness is marked "Paid" or "Cancelled" or other
wise satisfied, by the original payee or holder, it may be received by
the clerk and indexed and recorded as other instruments in the nature
of a release and shall have the same effect as a release of the property
for which it is the security, as a release executed by the named trustees
provided there is attached to the note or notes an affidavit of owner-
ship by the holder specifically setting forth the record of recordation
of the real property and, by liber and folio, specifying wherein the
deed of trust is recorded.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect on
July 1, 1969.
