211H-14.

The official "twenty-year highway needs study" of the State Roads
Commission is hereby amended to show the need for reconstruction
of Maryland Route 223, known as Woodyard Road, between Route 4
and Route 5 in Prince George's County, Maryland, the reconstruction
of which is hereby authorized and directed to be undertaken as soon
as practicable.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 9, 11,
and 12 of Article 13 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968
Replacement Volume and 1967 1968 Cumulative Supplement), title
"Bills of Exchange and Promissory Notes," subtitle "Legal Holi-
days," AND TO REPEAL SECTION 77 OF ARTICLE 100 AND
TO ENACT NEW SECTION 77, IN LIEU THEREOF, TO
STAND IN THE PLACE OF THE SECTION SO REPEALED,
to provide for uniform annual observances of certain legal
public holidays on Mondays to take effect on January 1,1971*, AND
PROVIDING COMPENSATION FOR EMPLOYEES WORKING
ON HOLIDAYS.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 9, 11, and 12 of Article 13 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1967 1968 Cumulative
Supplement), title "Bills of Exchange and Promissory Notes," subtitle
"Legal Holidays," be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, AND THAT SECTION 77 OF ARTICLE 100
IS HEREBY REPEALED AND NEW SECTION 77 IS ENACTED
IN LIEU THEREOF, TO STAND IN THE PLACE OF THE
SECTION SO REPEALED, ALL to read as follows:

9. Enumeration.

The following days in each and every year, namely the first day
of January, commonly called "New Year's Day"; the 12th of Febru-
ary, known as "Lincoln's Birthday"; the [-22nd of] third Monday in
February, known as "Washington's Birthday"; the 25th day of March,
known as "Maryland Day"; "Good Friday"; the first Monday in
September, commonly called "Labor Day"; the [30th of] last Monday
in
May, commonly called ["Decoration"] "Memorial Day"; the 4th
day of July, called "Independence Day"; the 12th day of September,
known as "Defenders' Day," the [12th day of] second Monday in
October, known as "Columbus Day"; the [11th day of November]
fourth Monday in October, known as ["Veterans"] "Veterans' Day";
the fourth Thursday in November, known as "Thanksgiving Day";
the 25th day of December, called "Christmas Day"; and all days of
general and congressional elections throughout the State and all
