license, pass the qualifying examination and act as an apprentice
for an additional year before applying for his regular license in the
manner above provided. In the event any applicant for admission to
examination for a real estate salesman's license shall present evi-
dence of having satisfactorily completed courses in real estate sub-
jects in any college, the educational requirements adopted by the
Commission pursuant to this subsection may be waived by the Com-
mission.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969. 1970.

CHAPTER 194
(Senate Bill 717)

AN ACT to add new Section 224B to Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement), title "Licenses," subtitle
"Real Estate Brokers," to follow immediately after Section 224A
thereof, providing that it will be unlawful for a broker licensee
to lend broker's license to a salesman, relating generally to the
duties of a licensed broker, and providing for disciplinary action
by the Real Estate Commission of Maryland for a violation of the
section.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 224B be and it is hereby added to Article 56 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement), title "Licenses,"
subtitle "Real Estate Brokers," to follow immediately after Section
224A thereof, and to read as follows:

224B.

It is unlawful for a broker licensee to lend his license to a sales-
man, or permit a salesman to operate as a broker. A broker licensee
must exercise the requisite degree of supervision over the activities
of his salesmen. A broker licensee must never permit absentee man-
agement.
The Commission may, upon receipt of a verified complaint
in writing, and as a result of its own investigation
IF IT finds a
violation of this section, revoke or suspend any license issued under
this subtitle.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.
