MARVIN MANDEL, Governor

THORIZED TO ASSIGN TO THEM, AND EACH OF THEM,
THE PERFORMANCE, SUBJECT TO HIS DISCRETION AND
CONTROL, OF ANY OF THE DUTIES WITH RESPECT TO
SAID DEPARTMENT REQUIRED OF HIM BY LAW. ALL
SUCH ASSISTANT ATTORNEYS GENERAL SHALL BE
PRACTICING LAWYERS OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND,
IN GOOD STANDING, AND THEY SHALL RECEIVE SUCH
COMPENSATION AS SHALL BE PROVIDED IN THE STATE
BUDGET.

233.

(a)    The following Departments, Agencies, Commissions, Boards,
and Committees shall be included within the Department of Natural
Resources: the Department of Chesapeake Bay Affairs, the Com-
mission on Chesapeake Bay Affairs, the Department of Game and
Inland Fish, the Game and Inland Fish Commission, the Department
of Forests and Parks, the Commission of Forests and Parks, the
Maryland Geological Survey, the Maryland Geological Survey Com-
mission, the Bureau of Mines, the Mine Examining Board, the
Maryland Commission on Mining Laws,
LAND RECLAMATION
ADVISORY COMMITTEE, the Department of Water Resources,
the Water Resources Commission, the Maryland membership
unit of the Interstate Oil Compact Commission, the Upper Potomac
River Commission, the Governor's Patuxent River Watershed Advis-
ory Committee, the Maryland Environmental Trust, the Maryland
membership unit of the Interstate Commission on the Potomac
River Basin, the Maryland membership unit of the Interstate Ad-
visory Committee on the Susquehanna River Basin, the Maryland
membership unit of the Susquehanna River Basin Commission, the
Maryland membership unit of the Atlantic State
STATES Marine
Fisheries Commission, the Maryland membership unit of the Potomac
River Basin Advisory Committee, the Maryland membership unit of
the Potomac River Fisheries Commission, the Scenic River Review
Board, the Water Sciences Advisory Board, and such other depart-
ments, agencies, commissions, boards, committees, councils or units
as may hereafter by law be declared to be part of the Department
of Natural Resources. If any provisions of this subtitle, as they affect
the Maryland membership units of interstate agencies, are inconsist-
ent with any interstate compact to which Maryland is a party, then
the provisions of this subtitle shall not be applicable to such units
to the extent of the inconsistency.

(b)    The Secretary of Natural Resources shall have such authority
and powers over the departments and other units herein enumerated
as are or shall be from time to time specifically granted by law; all
authority and powers not so granted to the Secretary are reserved
to the departments or other agencies assigned to the Department of
Natural Resources.

234.

(a) The Secretary shall be responsible for the coordination and
direction of comprehensive planning in the area of natural resources.
In addition, he shall keep himself fully apprised of plans, proposals,
projects, and programs of the departments and other agencies or
units within the jurisdiction of the Department of Natural Re-
sources, and shall have power to approve, disa
